Designers featured in 'Handmade Design' by Paola Antonelli, Domus, Mar. 2012

Paola Antonelli, Domus, March 1, 2012

Paola Antonelli, Senior Curator in Architecture and Design at MoMA (Museum of Modern Art New York), has written an essay for Domus 956, the issue for which Formafantasma were invited to design the cover and write the editorial.

'Handmade Design' is an exploration of how some of today's most cutting-edge designers are embracing a "human, holistic and constructive persprective" in their cretive approach. Antonelli specifically elucidates the way in which designers including Formafantasma, Peter Marigold, Julia Lohmann and Studio Job - all designers with whom Gallery Libby Sellers works - are increasingly turning to so-called 'craft' techniques to produce beautiful objects for thoughtful consumption. Antonelli notes too that "some private galleries, including kreo in Paris and Gallery Libby Sellers in London, have been instrumental in giving promising and established designers the opportunity to test new ideas in a secure and supportive environment".
