As part of their 10th anniversary celebrations, FUMI Gallery in Mayfair invited Libby to curate the exhibition Now and Then.
As the title suggests, the exhibition is about origins and continuity, uniting designers and works from the gallery’s earliest days with recent and new commissions.
Far from establishing a series of juxtapositions and binary oppositions though, the selected works offer a temporal collage of the various relationships that have developed over that ten-year period: between FUMI and the designers, and between the designers themselves. More discernibly, it also offers new points of contact when unconnected works are brought together, resulting in incidental overlaps or unexpected relationships that highlight both the increasing plurality of contemporary practice and the collective ambitions of those immersed within it.
Exhibition continues until 24 November, 2018.
