'Twist Stool' by Simon Hasan acquired by the Museum of Leathercraft, September 2014.

The Museum of Leathercraft in Northampton has acquired 'Twist Stool' by Simon Hasan to be part of its permanent collection.

The stool was created using the medieval technique of Cuir Bouilli, in which the leather has been stretched around wooden moulds before being immersed in boiling water to harden irrevocably. 'Twist Stool' reflects Hasan's interest and experimentation with ancient processes, from which he creates objects in which heritage and industrial production processes intersect.
