This year's Triennale Design Museum exhibition is "Italian Design Beyond the Crisis: Autarky, Austerity and Autonomy" and features works by Paola Petrobelli and Formafantasma.

 

The seventh edition of the annual exhibition focuses its attention on design during three periods of economic austerity in Italy (the 1930s, the 1970s, and the 2000s) when self-production in design was either embraced or denied. A multifaceted selection of about 600 works by many maestri from Italian design including Carlo Mollino, Franco Albini, Gio Ponti, Salvatore Ferragamo, Piero Fornasetti, Bruno Munari, Alessandro Mendini, Gaetano Pesce, Ettore Sottsass, Enzo Mari, Andrea Branzi, through to the next generation of protagonists including Martino Gamper, Formafantasma, Nucleo, Petrobelli, Lorenzo Damiani, Paolo Ulian, Massimiliano Adami.
