Julia Lohmann & Gero Grundmann

German born designers Julia Lohmann and Gero Grundmann are known for their investigations into the complexities and contradictions in the material world. Their fascination with all things related to the bi-products of the animal industry has led to body of work that is both compelling and inspiring. Having met while students at Kingston University, then independently joining the Royal College of Art in London, they both graduated in 2004 and have since returned to Hamburg where Lohmann is Professor at the University of Fine Arts. Lohmann was the recipient of a Designer of the Future Award at Design Miami/Basel 2008 and was also Designer in Residence at the Victoria & Albert Museum, London, in 2013.
