Works by Studio Frith, Julia Lohmann & Gero Grundmann at the Barbican, February 2013.

Chessboards designed by Studio Frith and Julia Lohmann & Gero Grundmann for the 2012 'Games' exhibition will be on display and available at London's Barbican for the duration of their 'The Bride and the Bachelors' exhibition.

Organised by the Philadelphia Museum of Art in association with the Barbican, 'The Bride and the Bachelors' examines Marcel Duchamp's impact on composer John Cage, dancer and choreographer Merce Cunningham, and artists Robert Rauschenberg and Jasper Johns. Duchamp was a chess obsessive and Gallery Libby Sellers' 'Games' exhibition paid homage to this fanaticism with new chess related commissions by designers such as Studio Frith, Lohmann, Peter Marigold, Simon Hasan and Rolf Sachs.
