German publisher Gestalten have released a book celebrating 'The Craft and the Makers', which includes the works of Dutch maker Aldo Bakker.
In identifying a new type of consumer who seeks objects that offer a personal connection, the book focuses on artists, designers and craftspeople who are offering 'things with a soul.' The publication also highlights how these artists use their skills and creativity to create their objects. Bakker's copper, silver, porcelain and wooden works are all chosen as exemplars of this end-user focussed design.
