With 'Water Lily', Nakamura sought to ponder the tensions inherent in an object that lingers between flat and three dimensional. Thin yet strong, the bench - hand-tinted in six bespoke shades of coloured pencil - is characteristic of Nakamura’s explorations of space and form. This is a bench whose structure is grid-constructed with stainless steel round rods. If you walk around it, the outward appearance of overall colour changes according to the point of the view.
